We were very sad to hear of Don's passing. He was a valued friend during our years with Central Soya. His birthday and Christmas cards never failed to bring a smile.

First, I would like to express my sympathy to the Sailer family for their loss. I worked at Central Soya for 15 years before it was rolled into Bunge and eventually split up. I had the pleasure to work with Don throughout my career, and play some golf. He was extremely knowledgeable and I learned a lot from him. His personality was also great to be around. He was always calm and even-keeled. I also enjoyed his many puns and jokes. His greatest (imo) came when he asked about what my wife and I named our first daughter. When i said her name was Elaine Noel, he immediately responded 'How do you spell it if there's no L?'

I often think of Don and the years I worked with him. His visits to the plant (Remington) were always fun and amusing, spent many nights here with him working on the tests. His sense of humor and personality always stuck with me and I try to keep the puns alive, something we shared liking to do. A few of us still tell stories about Don and Art's visits to the plant. Very sad to hear of his passing, world is a little less bright now. Thoughts and prayers are with the family.
