We had great pleasure in knowing Les as our Christian brother for many years at Southport Presbyterian Church- solving problems in our doughnut group on Sunday mornings.

I sat next to Les for 25 years or so at the Saturday men’s breakfast. Just a wonderful man with such a keen sense of humor. I know he loved going to the Baxter Y. He will be missed by many!

Les was a force at the Baxter YMCA. His sharp wit, smiles, and genuine concern for all were well-loved. He will be missed. Thank you to his family for sharing him with us as we have been strengthened through knowing him. Prayers are lifted up for Les and his family.

CHARLENE H. LOVELAND-THOMPSON left a message on February 17, 2021:
I have so missed our HUGS every Sunday since the pandemic. I would wait for him to come in on Sunday mornings just to give him a hug. He would always get on me if I shared my hugs with other guys. I would also keep and eye on him when I was on the choir platform. If I didn't see him, I was always concerned. I was just thinking about him the other day. His spirit must have been close that day.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

My sympathies to the entire family. I always enjoyed being included in some of the October birthday dinners and other events. My favorite fun memory was when he locked himself in at the shop and I had to go “rescue” him! I saw him just last Friday when I transported him to his dialysis appointment. RIP Les.
